About Us
Founded in 2002, Wine and Food PR specializes in creating, launching, and sustaining
media coverage for wine and food businesses. We provide training programs as well as work with
our clients to create proactive, ongoing public relations campaigns
that yield measurable results backed by trackable data.
Why We're Unique...and Why We're Your Best
Choice
I, the founder, have years of experience as a TV news anchor in
Northern California. I know what stories the media likes,
and the types of news releases they will respond to because
I've been on that side, reading the releases and writing the
stories. That's why I have a high success rate - I've been in the shoes of a news guy. Really.
I have.
-
I know the types of stories that interest
the media, so I'll fit your products and business into those
formats so that the media will be more likely to respond.
-
I know how to write the news releases so that
the reporters will read them. Why? Because, as a news
anchor, I've slogged my way through hundreds of them, and I know
what reporters think: Make it easy to read.
-
I also know how to treat the media so they'll
be interested in having you come back. Why? Again, because
I've been on that side of the camera.
-
I know a lot of people in the industry.
So what you get are hard-hitting stories about
your business that will get media attention. Because that's
what we want: coverage.
Experience
I have more than 20 years
of experience in public relations and marketing, both in television
and the corporate world. Really.
Here's my LinkedIn Profile Page. That experience
includes marketing and public relations plan writing, developing and
writing feature stories, press releases, newsletters, and placing
stories with print and broadcast media nationwide and on the
internet.
Who We Serve
Wineries, wine businesses (tasting rooms, wine bars, etc.)
restaurants, and specialty food stores.
Why We're Effective
We're specialized. All of our media contacts are
involved with food and/or wine.
That way we understand the specific needs that the food media has and can build
specialized campaigns for your products.
Many times PR is done in a "shotgun"
manner: a
press release is created, and then "sent out over the wires" to thousands of
outlets nationwide. I don't do it that way. I do "rifle-shot" PR:
I choose
specific media targets and create customized releases for them, followed
by phone calls ("Hey Bob! Boy, have I got a
story for you....!"). The result: much better chance of
media placement because it's what they want to hear.
Who's
in our Target Media
All
the local media (we're based in Phoenix AZ) as well as all
national periodicals like Food & Wine, Wine & Spirits, etc., plus
all the TV you'd expect: local channels plus Food Network, etc.
